What a lovely week it's been. I'm sitting at my computer at 5 PM on Friday and someone is setting firecrackers off in the park. It seems appropriate. I just picked up that piece of Virginia Johnson printed canvas, above (it reminds me of Jenny's post about printed goods). Today I spent my day off hanging out with Erin and when Virginia Johnson came up, I realized I hadn't been in to the VJ shop in a while. After trying on so many dresses at Robber, I rode over to the shop and poured through the bucket of fabric.
We're off to a cottage this weekend (thank you, Julie). I hope you all have enjoyed this week of patriotism: Canada Day for us and the fourth of July for our pals to the south! Light lots of firecrackers and spell things out with sparklers, will ya.

oh i am so jealous that you can just pop into the VJ shop! she used to sell fabric online, but it doesn't seem to be available anymore. i've been looking for interesting fabrics for a custom baby carrier, and of course Virginia Johnson fabric was the first thing I thought of!
have a lovely time at the cottage!
That BFF lemonade sign is so sweet. Have a great weekend!
I'm a big fan of your blog (and etsy). I've never commented before but I just have to ask: where did you get the third issue of Apartamento?! I've been looking everywhere for it.
Thanks.
Erica: Yeah, I feel pretty happy about that! The basket was mostly remnants -- small bits, but with some yardage. If there's something specific you're after I don't mind taking a look, or asking if they'll sell me some! Actually, maybe they'll sell it to you -- it's worth a shot. Their fabric is lovely!
Hannah: Isn't it the sweetest? I'd love to have seen it in action!
Anon: Hi! Thank you! Geoff picked up that magazine at Maison de la Presse Internationale in Yorkville, but it may have been the last copy. I've heard that the Great Canadian News at Yonge and St Clair may have it. Good luck!
When I worked at VJ's there were tons of bolts and you could buy by the yard. I'm pretty sure you can still get a good amount in the store (I was last in a couple weeks ago) unless their policy has changed. I'd give them a ring if you're looking for a specific print.
The canvas looks great!
Thanks, Jenny! I just remembered that Geoff said you were working there!
have fun at the cottage! we spent a pretty wild night there a few years ago (just ask erin...)
ahahaaa Steph!! wish you guys could come too!
i'm totally jealous of that great fabric score! her prints are so amazing.
AND i'm jealous of your upcoming cottage weekend! i'm sure you will have such a great time. i miss the cottage. (they say "cabin" on the westcoast. :))
